Mar 1963: Establishment of Hatten Kogyo. [Capital: 8.8 million yen]
May 1963: Constructed Kozakai factory in Aichi prefecture.
Aug 1964: Capital increased to 35 million yen.
Feb 1965: Constructed of Toyohashi factory in Aichi prefecture.
Dec 1968: Capital increased to 98 million yen.
May 1975: Begin integrated production of mattresses in Toyohashi factory. Obtained SG mark authorized by the Consumer Product Safety Association
Feb 1976: Company name changed to Suzuran Kogyo
Jun 1979: Factory authorized as a “JIS indication certified factory” by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. [certification no: 479025]
Apr 1981: Opened showroom at Head Office
Sep 1981: Product certified as “Good Design Product” by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry
Nov 1983: Established of Suzuran Bed Sales Co., Ltd. [Capital:20 million yen]
Apr 1987: Alliance with US Sealy Incorporated formed through license agreement.
Apr 1987: Company name changed to Sealy Japan Co., Ltd.
Apr 1987: Established new head office and showroom in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo.
Jun 1987: Capital increased to 40 million yen.
May 1990: Capital increased to 80 million yen.
May 1997: Opened Sealy Japan website
Dec 1999: Introduced the world’s first “dual support system”.
Apr 2006: Relocated head office and showroom to Kita Aoyama.
Oct 2007: Opened Osaka Showroom at Shinsaibashi, Osaka
Oct 2008: Opened Sendai Sleep Gallery at Aoba-ku, Sendai.
