What made you decide that Sealy Japan was the company for you?
The interior shop where I used to work handled Sealy products. I felt that not only the products, but the Sealy sales representatives themselves were attractive. When I heard of the Osaka showroom opening, I applied for this position. I felt an attraction towards this job of proposing an environment for sleep, which people spend doing a third of their lifetimes, and joined Sealy Japan.
Tell me your position / what you do at Sealy Japan.
I work as a “Sleep Concierge” at the Osaka showroom, and assist customers visiting our showroom in finding the most suitable bed for them. Various types of customers visit our showroom; soon-to-be home owners, newly-weds, people seeking a better sleep environment...? There are many things I learn through my encounters with the customers, and their smiles are the source of my energy!
What was your past career before Sealy Japan?
I worked as a sales clerk at an interior shop for about 2 years before joining Sealy Japan, and before that I was doing PR at a fabric manufacturer for about 2 years. What I gained through these two jobs, the ability to convey something of good quality/value is also very important in the servicing of the customers at the showroom. I realize that my past experiences are indeed the wellspring of what I am now.
How is the atmosphere of the company?

My main job is in the showroom as the “Sleep Concierge”, but I also spend a lot of time with the sales people of our Kansai office which is set within the Osaka showroom. The atmosphere is very sociable and cozy without any boundary between jobs. The Kansai office characteristic is very friendly and cheerful.
What do you enjoy most about your work? What is “work” to you?
I find it interesting to broaden the ways of sales activity by making use of the showrooms. Currently, I cooperate with the sales people in holding workshops and weekend sales events, and also provide feedback from customers to the office. The function of the showroom has no limit, and there are still a lot left to do that I would like to work on.
What is your dream? And where does the power to pursue your dream come from?
Career-wise, to continue to engage in the service work that I believe is my true vocation. Hobby-wise, to keep singing (I'm not good, but I love singing!!). I get the power for both my dreams from the smiles of customers.
How do you spend your weekends?
On my days off, I go to school to develop skills to move up in my career. Also I play in an amateur band, which has been my longtime hobby. Tennis, which I'd started recently, is starting to become fun.
What are you interested in right now?
Right now I’m interested in Japanese tea ceremony, river sports, Pomeranian, and beauty spas. I'm greedy! (laugh).
