interview No9

What made you decide to join Sealy Japan Co., Ltd. ?

I was interested in the interior industry and was job-hunting in that industry, when the Sealy logo caught my eye. I felt it might be a growing industry considering the future society. The interviewers were very nice as well.

Please tell us your job responsibilities.

I belong to Kansai Office and am engaged in sales. I am in charge of department stores, specialty shops, and housings, and work with existing customers as well as develop new customers. Since the sales approach differs depending on the channels, having varieties of customers can be difficult at times, but it is also interesting. Other than sales I train the new staff at the office, and things like that.

What is your career /backgrounds before joining Sealy Japan Co., Ltd. ?

Sealy Japan is my first job. I have been engaged in sales in the Kansai Office from the beginning.

How is the work environment?

Usually I move around on my own, as the duties assigned to one person are very vast and cover many areas. But for customer sales events and furniture shows/exhibitions, I work with my co-workers and we all work together. It’s a very flexible organization in that sense. The atmosphere of the company is lively, with many strong personalities. Everyday, I am stimulated and supported by all the members at Sealy Japan.

What attracts you to work at Sealy Japan and what does “work” means to you?

Real pleasure of work

The ultimate goal for a sales person is the achievement of the sales budget, but the process and methodology differs from one sales person to another. I put value on the trust from customers, in my sales activity. Basically, this consists of the persistent efforts of visiting the customers. But once the relationship is established, this “trust” becomes a very strong advantage to my work, and I feel fulfillment in establishing this trust.

What is your dream and what motivates you to achieve your dream?

My dream is to buy a house in the countryside and lead a self-sufficient life.

Tell us a bit about your private life and how you spend your weekends.

On weekends I focus on my family duties. During the weekday, my time tends to be spent on my work, so I relax with my wife on my days off. These days, we often go browsing for children's clothes

Do you have anything you are now interested in ? If so, please tell us about it.

I love watching my child grow. I also follow the Tigers (Japanese pro-baseball team) game, and like watching oversea TV dramas as well.
